Been in a 407 and liked it

I currently own a 406 V6 Coupe and also a 407 SW 2.0 HDi Executive. They are two completely different cars with very different charateristics.

Whilst I love the "fun" and looks of the 406 Coupe I hate the fuel consumption and repair costs, not to mention the road tax!

The 407 is far more practical and economical to run. I bought the executive model as it has all the toys, full leather, full panoramic sun roof, sat nav etc etc.

So what do I prefer?

For longer drives and more comfort I prefer the 407.

Any other time I prefer my Coupe which I will never part with.

Can I plug my pp2000 into this 2010 407, is there some newer pugs you shouldn't/cant plug a pp2000 into?

I don't know about a 2010 Farmerpug, but I plugged mine into my 55 plate without any issues.

I have just watched a couple of video clips on utube and its seems that after 2007 people have being using Auto Com, I have never heard of it but have a look yourselves and see what you think.

Thats the 407 serviced, it wasnt too hard to work on, the fuel filter housing has a 25mm head, my socket set goes 24, and 26 missing the 25 but a stilson got it loosened off.

One mistake i made was putting everything back together, including the undertray, closing the bonnet and quicky starting up the car, but the low oil level light come on, it ran for a few seconds, i quickly turned it back off and filled it with oil thankfully it runs without any clatter. Its a mistake i wont be making too soon again.

It also starts on the first turn of the key, all the filters look original and the housing had bits of shite in it which probably explains the starting problems the car had and the occasional missing. It seems to be fine now.

No its not my 407. I am working at an engineering company in the design/drawing office (im out on placement from uni), the main designer in the company who i am working with/learning from owns the 407.

Its a 2.0 HDi 136, im not sure about the model, looking on auto trader the sport models seem to match its level of spec (1/2 leather, sat nav, parking sensors, electric everything)

Same engine as mine but my one has th Exec spec, bit more plush as they covered the half leather seats with another half leather on the seats!

My old PP2000 did a 2010 308 recently with no issues - only some menus are different but PP2000 will guide you through it.

The 407 is back to its old starting problem, it takes about 4-5 seconds of cranking before it starts and it misses when driving especially at low loads which it was doing before the filter was changed).

Its worth mentioning that there were air bubbles in the fuel line going into the filter housing, there was some crud at the bottom of the housing and when i was pumping the priming bulb to get rid of some of the air bubbles some sizeable chunks of dirt did come out of the fuel line.

Does these 407 priming bulbs give any trouble like they did on the old XUD cars, could the diesel be leaking back to the tank? What would be causing the air bubbles?
