I may very well take you up on that, thank you.GingerMagic wrote:Ahem, I still have donor car here ( its not going anywhere until I get the bastard locking wheel bolts off...... ) if you need the passenger lock.?

Probably going to wait and see - if it misbehaves now, there's no point changing the lock.
I lost the locking bolt key for my old exec, wound up drilling all 4 out. Let me know if you want any info.

Re: Central locking gremlins
Just realised I left this thread dangling, in a manner of speaking.
We replaced the front passenger door lock, with the one from Gingermagic's now much-recycled exec estate and it works perfickly.
(Thanks again Kelvin).
Took a bit longer to warp things up as my bro took himself off to France for a spell.

Re: Central locking gremlins (Now Sorted)!
Hi Guys
I was going to post about my experience with the ruddy door locks on my 406. BUT IT SEEMS YOU MAY HAVE SORTED IT OUT FOR ME. i will soon be back after checking my doors and interior lights tomorrow.
Just one question if i disconnect the power to the door lock that is the problem and manually lock it, can i then lock the car using the key fob?
thanks
Peter

Re: Central locking gremlins (Now Sorted)!
My bro's driver door lock has taken to occasionaly not unlocking along with the rest of the car, having to be unlocked with the key.
Today we swapped this unit for the other door lock from Kelvin's executive and it works perfickly again.
My bro reckons reuniting these two locks in a Monaco blue exec estate with chestnut levver, just feels right.
I guess we'll find out soon enough as he's off the Midi Pyranees on Tuesday, bent on slaughtering wild boar and perhaps the odd muflon.
(Which means hyper-pig for Sunday lunch on the 22nd).
