I have unplugged the solenoid and it all seems ok but will give it a 12 hour run tonight to check.
Unplugging has not put the management light on!! - James will running around like this cause any long term problems. Does this all point to the egr valve being faulty, as it did used tio make a humming sound every so often, but has not done this for a while possibly suggesting the valve has stopped working?
Thanks Again.
Still got this annoying hdi running problem

James. Right well the fault is still there!!!. So back to the drawing board. I have though managed to work out that the fault is only happening when under load. I can use the car all day and if driven easily i get no problems. However if i try to go on the motorway at any speeds over 60 mph (fine under that) the engine is holding back and refuses to accelerate, and starts to judder. Go off the motorway and drives fine!!.
It feels almost as if it is being starved of fuel. Would the fuel pumps cause this problem, i have checked the filter bowl and i have no swarf or anything, or is there perhaps a fuel pressure regulator fitted that causes any problems. Ironically and work this out since i have had the fault and replaced the mass meter fuel consumption has improved slight!! - but fault getting worse and happening more often!!.
Any ideas ??

I got the part number from peugeots and gave the part number to citroen. The meter was bagged up in a citroen and peugeot wrapper. But i may double check Monday just to be sure i guess. Must admit i was tempted to buy a second hand one from a breaker just to make sure this one is not faulty!!.
BAffled!!
