Re: Clicking near passenger airbag
thanks mate. I'm going to take the glovebox out on the weekend so I can take a better look.
Re: Clicking near passenger airbag
Well,
finally I managed to take a look, and the furthest I got was taking out the blower motor, and it is still clicking from the same area.
I've not been able to gain access to the area that the noise is coming from. It seems I will have to remove the entire dash just to gain access to the area.
Fun.

Yep, it's a dash-out job to replace that. However you CAN see if it is at fault. Set the car to not recirc, open the bonnet and get at the pollen filter. Take the filter out and you should be able to see the blower fan. Set it to recirc and you should see the fan covered by a piece of plastic.
You can also see this movement from inside with the blower removed.
If there's no movement, you have my condolences. If you're not going to fix it (I probably wouldn't, but I have to do all my work in the street) I'd push/pull the flap open (recirc OFF) by hand and try to unplug or cut the wires to the motor.

The joy. I removed the motor and noticed the pollen filter. I also noticed a flap with a rubber edge. This wouldn't move. It seems to be stuck.
I turned the ignition on and pressed the re-circ button and it didn't move, nor did it free up. It's constantly open by the looks of it ( I can see the pollen filter ).
Looking at the Haynes, its not "that" hard to remove the dash, although it's going to be a pain in the rear.
Cheers

Re: Clicking near passenger airbag
At least you've discovered your problem! If it doesn't move with a gentle push with the power off, it's likely a snapped bit of plastic. If it does, you'll be wanting a new motor (if these parts are sold individually)
