Many thanks guys I'll get the pictures up when I've completed or attempted the retrofit, that switch where the parcel shelf fits into is that part of the shelf or the metal work of the body? Does the Parcel shelf and that metal plate come out of the donor car presumably with the release pull mechanism or is it welded to the Chassis?

Just had a scan through the haynes manual, can't see it saying that the metal plate is removable, i think you would need to take the pull handle from the D9 and drill some holes to screw into in the D8, and cut a hole through the plate for the mechanism to go through
