underside cover... coming loose?

im confused as to how you can use a cable tie to do the job of a bolt? surely the bolt just fits through a hole into another hole and screws in?

not sure how a cable tie can do such a thing... thought thats because i still havent been under the car and had a gander at it

The bolt holes on the undertray are at the end of pointy bits, which meet holes in pointy bits of the subframe coming from the opposite direction, so you just thread a tie through the holes then join it up to the side. You can put one on the other side too if you're paranoid. The bottom wheelarch liner hole also attaches nicely with a cable tie at the same place

The last I saw of my undertray was when it frisbeed over the bonnet of the Vectra who was tailgating me!
Talk about comic timing, never realised the car had such a sense of humour.

just finally been under there and the entire thing was ripped to shreds. just been mailing a few breaking 406 people on eBay to ask them if theyve got any (with bolts) for about £15 which i think is pretty reasonable.

My undercover came off today whilst reversing of my drive. The snow must of mounted up underneath it. Pulled it off at the back and it came out the front. Jacked the car up a few cable ties later job done. The little plastic screw thingies are rubbish.

That's what happened to mine - the snow which builds up in the centre of the road yanked the tray off I never noticed or heard anything and never saw it again

I thought about making an aluminum sheet with a foam backing, but that's all I did, thought about it.

i just got quoted by a fellow on eBay £45 for an undertray, not including the clips that hold it up AND not including postage, for which he wants ten of my english pounds.

I`ve cable tied my under tray on.I rip it off at least once a year working in the quarrys.I only have 1 under tray now.Did`nt even know i`d lost the rear tray
