The mk2 Granada 2.8i X pack already had the spotlights, and fogs. Front and rear spoilers too!406executiveHDI wrote:Classic cars were so much easier to modify tastefully especially old fords, with a capri all you had to do was put the v6 add a few spot lights, a red line, electric aeriel and jobs a goodun
I used to like the minilite style wheels on the likes of the mk2 Escorts. Amazing to think they were only 13/14"!

The old Mk2 Granada 2.8i Ghia X - my 3rd car (at 18) & still one of my all time favourites. Mine still had the front spoiler intact too! A guy I was working with at the time had one with the uber rare RS kit fitted to it.

Ffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffeck! I dunno about you guys but the standard of fabrication is leaving me feeling very, what's the word? I do believe it's pathetic
I've not finished it yet but the guy seems rather cagey about costs, but by what he has said the engine probably cost more than my house!

As it is now it produces 170hp at idle

Re: a good car ruined by a boy racer
why doesnt someone convert a 406 to rwd and put in this sort of engine, and keep it looking original, i like sleeper cars.

Re: a good car ruined by a boy racer
I think I'd prefer to make a 4x406
No chance of that here though.
Well, that killed an hour or so.... The standard of work is unbelievable
It'll be interesting to see what happens when they stick it on the dyno. Just one thing though - that bodykit is cack! All that work and they make it look like some teenager's rusty Granny after a trip to Ripspeed
Not sure about the wheels either but hey, I can still remember seeing loads of them on the road, maybe if you didn't they don't look so odd.
Just think, without the roll cage and all that strengthening the power from the engine would turn it into a corkscrew

Out with the MIG, lots of trial fitting and fabricating mountings I reckon, although you don't have to be quite so careful...406executiveHDI wrote:yeah, i can fabricate sweet f-all and ive started this suzuki project with no experience or knowledge at all, except for a haynes manual on how to remove the engine from each jeep but nothing on swapping them round.
That car is going to be one hell of a handful when it takes off, you need a seat that you've got no chance of being thrown out of406executiveHDI wrote:although he should have kept the Granada's seats they were like having your living room sofa in the car

I took a MK1 Granada 3.0 Essex V6 Automatic for a spin. Was a 2 door coupe thing, looked abit like a mustang. I think the Focus was faster than it! I belive the owner said it was 130bhp.406executiveHDI wrote:ive never been in a granada its a bit before my time, what was the v6 like was it quick?
