Massive f*ck up, company I'm doing my apprentaship with have told me I aint starting till setpember (was told august before).
I can't sign on because my Mum claims child benefits apparently...

Which means I got £150 to last me till September.

I didn't think you could still claim child benefit once the children are over 18?

Waue - if the child is in full time education, child benefit is still payable up till 19 (or at least last time I checked it was)

Sam - get doing some valeting and earn some extra pennies

I reckon he could easily earn his petrol money and a bit more back on the day at gaydon if he wanted to im willing to pimp him out and take bookings he just needs to say the word and we are away

As much as I'd like to do some behind the scenes valeting theres a massive flaw.

I won't stop until I am 101% sure thats the best I can do to that car with the tools I have.
In the past people who's cars I've done just want them cleaned.
I can't just clean the car and stop, I end up claying, cleansing, polishing, waxing, dressing trim etc.
Try to get someone to pay more than £20 to have there car cleaned in and out is hard work.
So I end up using £25 in detailing gear, 12 hours of my time and £20 in cash.

Now I said to the guys on here, just give me a certain amount to cover my products as It's different amoung car enthusiasts.
Everyone brings something along to the meet that everyone will benefit from,

They'll knock that on the head before long in the name of saving. Although, would you not get more money signing on, than would be payable in child benefit? If so could you not get the kids to sign on, then pay the child benefit amount for their keep & let them keep what's left?

Personally, i'm not bothered about the inside
I just want the paint cleaned up

The questions were asked
a. how long
and
b. how much to do their 406 coupe

the answer was
a. 13-14 hours

and

b. £300

I think you've hit the nail on the head with detailing there Dave. People that own cars like Ferraris can afford to drop £300 to someone for a detailing session purely to lower their tax bill or just to help their wallet fit in the pocket again.

Average Joes like us can't afford to blow a weeks wage on what is essentially just a very thorough clean. Therein lies the other problem with detailing - a lot of people are under the impression that having their car detailed means they get it back as if it was factory fresh. Unfortunately detailing doesn't get rid of crazed lacquer, car park dents & scratches - it just gives them a better reflection in the sunlight.

BTW: I created a Facebook eventin the 406oc Facebook group. Mainly because I'm bored at work waiting for some SQL to finish running so I can set the next bit off over the weekend.
