Re: V6 406
I got another response from the LPG fitter, he says that flashcube come as standard with all his kits.
Ive been looking on auto trader and although the coupe is very nice looking and i like the idea of a V6, one of these have been tempting me:
http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/ ... ?logcode=p
Its a subaru forester, i have come to like them quite a lot after using my old £200 one, its a tough old thing, it can take quite a lot of abuse and still keeps going, a bit sore on fuel but not much worse than a coupe and LPG would sort that out. The insurance quotes are much cheaper than the coupe v6, (it actually works out to be just £50 more expensive to insure than my 110) despite the fact its more powerful.
Not to mention the fact it has all wheel drive, and enough space for the dogs, tools, or other large objects in the boot.
The only thing is the tax, this 2005 one is £280/year which is not too bad, the newer ones are £475/year despite both being 2.5 engines with the same c02 output, did the tax band rules change on a certain year.

Ooh, a Japanese car made after 2000, what could possibly go... errr. rightFarmerPug wrote:Its a subaru forester, i have come to like them quite a lot after using my old £200 one, its a tough old thing, it can take quite a lot of abuse and still keeps going, a bit sore on fuel but not much worse than a coupe and LPG would sort that out.

I always fancied a Forrester but my mate drove out here from the UK with one (2005 I think), not much different to sitting in the Pug so no good at all for my back.
Then I noticed all the warning lights on the dash...

Japanese cars never go wrong, and they don't ever rust.
Volkswagon's are reliable.
Fords are made to last forever.

Re: V6 406
I bought the 305 on ebay, it has been arranged that i have paid the seller money to get the car sorted out i.e. fixed for the mot, put through the mot, taxed and given a service as the deposit for £350, then i can pay the price of the car on delivery.

Re: V6 406
Im going to collect the 305 on saturday, i fly into manchester then get a lift to burnley where the car is located, then drive to holyhead to get the ferry to dublin and drive back up home.
The question i have is just about the different motorways, I've never drove a car in england and the two motorways in NI are both just 2 lane, is there anything in particular to be wary of when using the 3 lane motorways, as far as i understand sitting in the middle lane going too slow is as bad as sitting in the fast outer lane going too slow. Given its an old car and I'm not familiar with the roads i plan to it drive it easy.

Re: V6 406
No special technique really. If you're taking it easy you'll probably be in lane 1 most of the time, but the trick is to anticipate your need to use the middle lane and indicate, then pull out in good time or you'll wind up boxed-in behind the slowest vehicle on the planet if the road's not deserted.
Treat your indicator as a 'let me out please' request - whoever's in the middle lane should move into lane 3 if clear, to let you out.
I often think it requires far more concentration and anticipation to drive slowly and safely on m-ways than joining the GTF OUTMYWAYNOW club in the outside lane.
