Important update!!!![/color]
i quote from my earlier post:
""he then noticed cruise in the options list , it was marked as 'absent' so he clicked this, a dropdown list appeared an he selected 'present' also in the engine ecu list he found something called (from memory ) "survient-vitesse" also marked as absent so we guessed vitesse ment speed in french so marked this as present.""
SURVIENT-VITESSE
DO NOT ENABLE THIS FUNCTION !!! AS I DID UNLESS YOU WANT THE DASH BUZZER GOING OFF AT 76+ MPH!!!
ITS A SPEEDING WARNING AND SO ANNOYING.
I HAVE JUST HAD MINE SET BACK TO 'ABSENT' AND ALL IS PEACEFULL AGAIN

First check that you have the switches on the brake & clutch pedals. I was told I could only do it if I had the remotes for the radio on the steering column - I did. I don't know if it would work if you didn't have these already
On mine I bought the stalk from Pug, fitted it myself ( just a case of a small cut out in the steering column surround, remove a blanking plug, slot in the stalk and replace). then a trip to Pug to have it programmed into the ECU/BSI gubbins.
All in about eighty quid

How would i check the pedals? what would i be looking for? or would i need to take to stealers?
Re: Cruise control d9 1999 hdi110 **pls help!!!**
Get your head right under the drivers footwell and have a look/feel around the tops of the pedals, near the hinge. If you have the cruise control switches you'll have a switch behind the clutch and two behind the brake pedal. If you don't you'll only have the one on the brake

Re: Cruise control d9 1999 hdi110 **pls help!!!**
would the 2 on the brake pedal be right up beside/behind the steering coloum
Re: Cruise control d9 1999 hdi110 **pls help!!!**
Can't remember. I think they're mounted horizontally on a plate attached to the pedal, and there's a plate attached to the body right next to it, which pushes the switches. The plates are the same on cars without the cruise control switches, but there's a hole where one should be

Gav, if you've removed the trim panel that covers the fuses and bsi you'll be able to fit your head in the foot well and have a look up, follow the brake pedal up as far as it goes and if they are there you cant miss em , should be two sitting next to each other, I've got em on mine, i think there quite common
