Looking lovely matey! Loving the interior mods. 8) Where did you get the clear rear lights from by the way?

If your cars anything like mine, you'll be saying ta-ta to the laguna splitter very shortly after lowering the car. on any road that quickly changes from downhill-uphill or even flat-uphill my front bumper chomps into the road. With the extra 1" or 1 1/2" of the splitter... it's gonna hit hard!

There's a bit of road about a mile away from my house, you come down a bit of a hill then it quickly changes to uphill. My Mk3 Golf Gti was lowered a stupid amount, about 75-80mm at the front, more at the back and it never ground out there even at 90mph+ (it's a private stretch road of course  ) but my 406 twats the front bumper off the road at anything over 55mph :|

Saying that, i borrowed my ex mother in laws Mk4 golf 1.6 once and at 75mph it touched down so hard over that bit of road the bottom 2 inches of the bumper shattered, then on the way back to drop the car off i hit a pigeon and the stone chip on the windscreen turned into a crack, which got longer and longer until it was about 18 inches long by the time i got it back to hers... I wasn't to pupular.

Edit: That's the 2nd post in a row that's gone onto a new page, keep thinking i've broke something!
Man: What shall i wear?
Woman: Oh for god sake, you're not a child, i'm sure you can dress yourself!
5 mins later.
Man: Right then, what do you think?
Woman: You're not seriously going to wear THAT are you?
Man: Well i did ask you!
woman: <sigh> Come on, let's go dress you PROPERLY...
Man: WELL I DID ASK YOU!

Do a quick search for clear rear lense mod and that's how I made them.

I managed to get hold of 2 spare front struts yesterday so last night I swapped the lowering springs over onto them ready to lower the car when I'm off in a few days/next week.

Even with it not lowered I whack the splitter coming off speed bumps. I'm not too fussed though as it's rubber so bounces back into shape atm. Will probably end up removing it if it does whack the ground when lowered though as I live in the middle of nowhere in the middle of the Pennines so it's rather hilly round here. Plenty of places for me to bottom out the suspension on pretty much every journey! :D

Alright, sorry about that. See this link here. Really easy and quick to do.

I've now also got the crystal side repeaters fitted. I cracked the top plastic cover off and sprayed the silver/chrome bit black and stuck them all back together. They now look much better! Pics to come next week when I get round to lowering it.

Replaced the front and rear and rear anti-roll bar bushes. The front ones looked quite new so I've kept them for spares, but the rear were shocking! So glad I replaced them! Stopped the knocking noise coming from the rear anyway! :D Also replaced the front anti-roll bar drop links while I was lowering it and that stopped the knocking noise coming from the front too! :D Also replaced the drivers side track rod end so that's both sides now done. Also replaced the front brake pads as the low level light started to come on.

Also got 4 wheel alignment done, car now drives much better although the steering wheel is slightly to the left. I took it back twice to get them to correct this and it got slightly better each time, so it's not too bad so I may just live with it, or I may disconnect the airbag, remove the wheel and move it one spline round to get it right. That's the suspension now all sorted, time to move onto the brakes...

They're sat in the garden. Tempted to keep them in case I feel the need to go OEM+ on the 309.

Now done the black mask mod and some late spec wing mirrors (still all electric so everything still works). As a bonus the external temp guage seems to read slightly more accurate now. Took some pics with the eyebrows and some with the protectors. Currently got the protectors fitted as I'd quite like to not have to keep replacing the lenses. I've also got the lit vanity sun visors to fit, but need to lengthen the wiring as the person I got them off has chopped them about 3" from the visors.

I do a 40mile commute each way to work and back, and end up behind quarry wagons all the time so headlight protectors are a must, plus the fact that I've also hit 3 birds in the past week, and had to avoid a deer and a few rabbits and weasels too. They're pretty much a necessity around here as I've already had one broken foglight and only had the car 10 months.

Right then, been a bit of a while since I updated so here's what else I've done over the last few months.

Got the D9 doorcards fitted, along with the 3 passenger electric window switches. I couldn't do the drivers one as the cards came without a drivers switch set. Anyway, been calling into the local scrappers every month since I got the cards, but they never had any 4 switch controls left. Dropped in yesterday and they had one, and it only cost me £10. Bonus! Went to another local scrappers and they had 2 coupe's in. Got the black dash bits on the drivers side and the glovebox and surround for £15 + Vat. Spent yesterday afternoon fitting the drivers side bits and the glovebox surround, and spent yesterday evening taking the gloveboxes apart and swapping the lock barrel over so I am still able to lock this new glovebox with my key. Also fitted some D9 vents with the silver knobs, and also fitted a D9 metal handbrake button.

I have also covered the A, B and C pillar trims in black leatherette vinyl, and other than needing to redo the B pillars, they look pretty damn good! Need to get the stainless exhaust on pretty soon, as the back end of my mid pipe is starting to look pretty bad.

I have also changed the headunit to a better model Kenwood MP3 unit, and also replaced the front speakers and tweeters with some Fusion jobbies, cheap from Halfords in the sale. Rear brakes will need a complete overhaul soon, and still on the hunt fdor some cheap Brembo's for the front. Also replaced the passenger side droplink on Tuesday as the previous one only lasted 5-6months.

I've somehow managed to miss the WHOLE of this thread :? :?

I like what you've done - particularly the silver/grey trim bits inside.
