Oh, so it's not just silly little diesel engines they've got from Ford, they've been learning about built-in obsolescence (TM) too have they? :P

Current: 407 2.2 HDi 170 & C6 2.7 HDi.
Former: 406 1.9 TD; 406 HDi 90; 407 2.2 160; 307cc 180; 508 HDi 140.

When I got to 50K I had already replaced the Top Mounts, Both Lower Wishbon£s, the Drop Links, and a couple of rear 'stays' ALL of which turned up in boxes/bags marked "Focus" or in other words 'the weak link' :frown:

You shouldn't worry though, being a larger car yours probably shares most of it's component parts with the Ford Granada

Sam and I have already had a discussion about how it has the same brakes as his Mongdeo. I just figure that service parts therefore shouldn't be stupidly expensive, we'll see eh?

A lot of Volvo owners get their bits and bobs from Ford as it's cheaper, confusing, but cheaper.

I don't know if they still use Ford bits now? they probably are made by the same manufacturer but badged differently. My car has loads of FoMoCo stickers on things it's shamless. They probably can't badge the like that now being owned by Geely.

I suppose we should return this thread to it's original intent now, sorry.

just gone over the quarter million miles - my brother's 97 1.8 16v petrol. It used to be mine, so hope still counts in the "competition". I'm currently changing the clutch on that one, nearly done. My own 01 2.0 hdi is on a mere 130k miles :)

I have a 2003 53 90HDI S with 210,000 and a /2004 53 110HDI S with 272,000.
I'm not sure if its because its a 110 or its just because its the the one I've done most of he miles in but my 110 drives so much better and a friend has driven both and found the same!
