Clutch pedal vibration

Been there, done that How many times have I forgot to put a sump plug in and started filling?...How many times have I poured new oil into an engine without draining the old?...Don't ask

It's something I've always worried about doing but never actually done Still, there's all the times I've put something back together and found I left a part out and had to take it to pieces again.

Worst part is I went to euros and Halfords after and neither had any molyslip gearbox stuff in

Bloody euros have 6 rolls of blue towels on offer for £10, but they've got none in stock! bastards!

Well I'm going to get off my arse soon and finish the job off. Just need to shove the drop links on, tighten the ball joint nuts and do a few bits and bobs under the bonnet before putting gearbox+engine oil in (please god don't let me forget!) then getting the wheels on (argh damn hub nuts) and going for a drive.

Unfortunately I'm not going to be able to re-seal the sump, because the 8mm bolts have rusted and can be rounded just by touching them with your finger I'll pay someone to do that I think, but not now, even if it does mean I'm effectively wasting ££££££ of engine oil :/

So am I - I replaced the anti-roll bar bushes while I was at it ;)

As for your clutch change... if you ain't got somewhere covered and heated I ain't interested Probably the hardest part this time round was battling against the cold. Trying to work with nuts by feel alone when you can't feel anything... Not good. I spent a good few minutes trying to put the driveshaft bearing heat shield nut on - before realising the nut was on the floor and I must have dropped it when I sneezed minutes ago!

Definitely need to see about getting some insulation fitted in the garage

Coffee's boiling

I finally found a use for all the old bits of wood left from my old roof! (I certainly couldn't afford to heat it any other way )

This is the 'love' part of my love/hate relationship with my coupe

It's back together and on the road again! Slight judder in 1st and reverse when slipping the clutch, but apart from that it's all good, especially compared to the turboless tubby. Such a different beast to drive with the light clutch and accelerator (I REALLY need to service those damn Brembo callipers though!), so responsive, so great round the corners... The old D9 perks have been sorely missed too - windscreen demister coming on automatically and the interior light turning on when you remove the key. Small things but god I've missed 'em.

I shall also say this... I HATE WHEELARCH LINERS!


Right. Lets see if it gets me to Dudley tonight to see Sonata Arctica. Back again would be nice too...

I've just been fiddling with something with Brembo written on it myself That's everything containing paint stripper (DOT 4 to you) off the bike and in bits. Another few meters of roof gone too, although I think I overdid it with the coffee Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...

Well It's done 127 miles now and soaked them up. Really glad I got a new cruise control valve (£16?) from the dealers. Tis niiiiice to finally have working+reliable CC on a car Really helped driving most of the way at 54mph on the damn M6 roadworks Just set the CC and don't worry about the speed. Nice.

Such a great car when it works! Got to get an armrest for it though...


Going to move the turboless tubby into the garage Monday after I've given the place a clean and gotten rid of the stench of 1.9 litres of gearbox oil+molyslip that got spilt
