2litre HDI 406 ESTATE 2002
Just bought my 1st Peugeot and happy with this relatively cheap 135k example. Previously had a 2001 Mondeo TDDI 2 litre and I am surprised by the power difference. I had read reveiws that the power would be down a bit but not this much. It runs great but the turbo boost doesnt seem to last long enough. Its not as noticeable as the Mondeo but it defintely is working but shortly after it kicks in a it kicks out again. Also at 80mph and you put your foot down there is little reaction and it will take you up to the ton but after a long wait. i would have thought that as they say this car can do 115mph that it woud have a bit more kick but no??? I havent done a service on it yet but cant see that making much difference. It drives great and ticks over with no noises and engine is steady as a rock. Are there any commonfaults / easy fixes to pull the power back that should be there. I had my EGR blanked off on my mondeo and that made no difference so is there any point on this. By the way I am not in the habit of breaking the speed limit but want to know the kick will be there when I may need it. I am dragging a caravan 300 miles in 2 weeks and max power is what I need as its heavy....Any pointers would be greatly appreciated
