Peugeot Parts - "E" numbers
Me again. On Service Box I keep noticing alternative part numbers that begin with an E and their descriptions end with AND AGE >= 5. I went to Pug today to order a handbrake cable armed with two numbers - E074125 and 4745 R7. I asked my buddy the parts manager there about it and he said the E numbers are Peugeot's "second line" - i.e. (slightly) cheaper parts for older cars. Que? I asked him what the difference was and he reached up behind the counter and brought down a pollen filter. It didn't look like the one on my car with half the number of folds in it and the whole thing was very flimsy. When it starts filling up with dust I can imagine the whole thing being sucked into the fan
Needless to say, I ordered the "first line" part.

That's weird, cheap-ass parts for older cars we're trying to keep running reliably
Unless they figure older cars do less mileage so don't need the full monty filters and such

I doubt it but my account is registered here. Anyone with a UK account care to try it?
