HELP!
While driving, I heard a knocking noise coming from the rear wheels. Knocking stopped then braking was much worse, then stopped completely. Got home, and rear shoes were about as bad as its possible to get. 2 fell apart in my hands, and the others werent actually there :S
Replaced rear shoes, and bled front brakes.
Braking is now slightly better, car stops, but then pedal is pushed all the way to the floor and braking stops completely and car starts rolling. Handbrake holds the car on a hill...sometimes. No visible brake fluid leaks.
I suspect faulty master cylinder.
Any ideas?

Seems a bit of a coincidence after all the other brake work but perhaps if you bled the brakes the old fashioned way by pumping the pedal, the seals finally wore out.

Either that or the fluid has got aerated.

You didn't bleed the rear brakes?
I would have thought that the brakes have been overheated and should have all the fluid replaced, only then can you start to look at a possible master cylinder fault.
It would be a good idea to replace the brake fluid, bleed all the brakes, then if the brake pedal will not come solid, go round to each brake hose and clamp it off, if the pedal goes solid at any hose clamping then that is the brake at fault.
