Yesterday i noticed the o/s/f headlight bulb had blown. Bought a new one popped it in using a pair of latex gloves and being carefull handling it. Switched the lights on and guess what headlight doesn't work. I then swapped the dipped beam and main beam h7 bulbs over. The main beam bulb works fine. When i did this still no joy with it. When the bulb blew i noticed that the green symbol on the dashboard to indicate the headlights are on has gone out permanantly. Another blown bulb i think. Checked the fuse for the o/s/f headlight and thats okay. I can only think that this problem is a dodgy earth. The o/s/f sidelight bulb is working fine.
I've read a few posts on here already all seems to be the passenger side. There is an earth quite near the headlight assembly so may have a go at cleaning it up and see what happens. Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks

Re: BLOWN O/S/F HEADLIGHT BULB
Does the O/S rear light work? If not, In my mind this would indicate a fault somewhere in the circuit and I would be sniffing round the fusebox.
Check your earth first though.

Re: BLOWN O/S/F HEADLIGHT BULB
After checking everything and cleaning the earths and taking the battery out. Had a quick look at the fusebox and it was a blown fuse didn't see it the first time in the dark! New fuse in and the headlights are okay again. Doesn't really explain why the fuse went but i'll just have to keep an eye on it. Got a pack of assorted fuses in the glovebox now and spare set of h7 bulbs just in case. Thanks for the advice. When i took the battery out i noticed the battery tray needs a clean up and coat of paint so that'll be a job for another day. i was having a look at the two biggish connectors with loads of wires underneath the battery tray. i'm wondering how they come apart as the bit of metal they are attached to looks a bit corroded think that could do with a clean up and coat of paint too. Anyone ever had to clean this up beacuse of corrosion/rust?
