Searching on here, it seems the next most common problem is a duff airbag ECU, (though enough 'victims' feel they paid for one that didn't turn out to be the only problem, to make you wonder).
Thinking there might be somewhere the lamp could be disconnected without having the instrument pod out, I checked HBoL's diagrams, but they're completely useless.

Duly disconnected battery, then ECU, battery back on, starts it up & no flashing airbag light - now it's on steady all the time

Opinions please - take the clocks out & loose the lamp, shell out a few € & download some decent diagrams off ServicePox?, any other thoughts?
