Another newbie from New Zealand!

Post by fuel »

hey guys, my name is Phil and like DRTDVL I'm from New Zealand.

I've just picked up a '97 Peugeot 406 2.0 sedan as a bit of a 'do-er upper' which prompted me to join here.

I've pretty much only owned Mitsubishis and a couple other Jap cars up until now (with the exception of a Mondeo estate which I had for all of a week).

My current steeds are a 1991 Galant VR-4 Evolution in more or less 100% stock standard condition and a 1980 Eterna GSR coupe in not so stock condition:

I'll post up pics of my 406 after I've given it a clean, but there's not much to see - just a standard maroon/red 406 on hubcaps.

from the factory it had the same 2.0L turbo engine and IRS, 4 wheel vented disc brakes and LSD as the early Starion models, but I've pulled the motor out in favour of a 3.0L V6 MIVEC (basically two stage cam control like VTEC) with two turbos attached, along with custom built adjustable platform shocks, the usual front mount intercooler (hidden) and 3" mandrel bent exhaust.

As it happens I also have another one of them coupes, but it's a lower spec 'Galant GT' model (also from Japan) - I think you lot would recognise them better as the Colt Sapporo.

Oooooo, a 91 Gallant.
Lovely motors with every conceivable extra from the era :)

We had a 1990 Gallant, hatchback in mettalic maroon. Lovely sounding engine, till mother tackled a Transit with it in 1997 :(

Oh yeah, welcome to the club :D
