Bottom hose repair

Post by sixspeed »

After having the usual problem with the rusted bottom hose connector, I made a temporary repair with a plastic waste pipe as suggested on another thread on this forum, but then I came across this. The guy in the shop called it Uniflex, it's a ribbed stainless steel flexi pipe specifically made for making up custom rad hoses. I just cut off the length required and used it to join the sawn off bottom hose to a connector from an old top hose. I thought I'd share it case it helps any one else. It was £15 for a foot length, so not the cheapest but cheaper than £70+vat for a new bottom hose assembly from Peugeot! (and a lot easier to fit)

I think it comes in 34mm and 38mm diameter, maybe others too I'm not sure. I got 34mm which was a tad smaller than the waste pipe (waste pipe was a bit of a squeeze).
