Hi all, quick question, had my 1.9 td D8 406 for a few months now and I've noticed the engine management light comes on occasionaly if I'm braking heading down hill. It goes off if i dip the clutch or blip the throttle.
Is this some kind of stall warning ? i don't let the revs drop particularly low (12-1500 range).
My other thought was gear box ?
Any thoughts ?
What's confusing me is the car runs fine even with the light on, no chugging or spluttering as if it's gonna to stall.
I did think maybe one of the fluid sensors due to the angle with the nose being lower but all checked and well within the lines.

Re: ENGINE MANAGEMENT LIGHT
Sounds to me like you're getting some engine movement and it's kinda tugging at a wire somewhere causing a temporary fault? The 1.9 is a simple beast so I shouldn't worry too much if it's running ok otherwise.

Thanks for the quick reply Welly, I'm not overly concerned it's just one of the things on my list.
I'll concentrate on tarting it up, apart from the dents and scratches it's a lovely car to drive.
