Injector Plugs on an HDi

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Injector Plugs on an HDi

Post by sirwiggum »

Hi,

This is going to sound like a stupid question, and the mechanics amongst you will be laughing out loud.

I wanted to have a look at the condition of the injector plugs, but I cannot seem to find them

Am I right in assuming that there should be 4 of them around the injector rail?

They should look like this:

(the 4 connectors on the left)

On a 407, google image search shows this:

I assume thats them? I can see similar going into my engine block, the connectors though are more like rubber boots and say "Siemens" on the side. I wanted to make sure they weren't the glow plug leads and I wasn't looking at the wrong thing!

Cheers

They're the ones above the arrows in the above pic, what i assumed were glow plug leads.

Cheers.

What you are pointing to are the injector pipes (the fuel supply) the plugs (wiring connectors?) are on top of the injectors.
Unless you have a problem I would leave them alone, it's really not a good idea to mess with injectors.

The glow plugs have thin, angled connectors and have 10mm spanner size heads and are a lot thinner than the injectors.

Wanted to check the connectors are on correctly. Don't want to mess about with removing injectors at this stage. So long as they're getting a good electrical connection 8)

Cheers!
