Rear camber bars

Post by johnsav »

not sure if thats the correct name or not? im talking about the bar with a ball joint that atatches to the hub assembly and the chasis...

basically has anyone changed theirs lately? i need to change mine soon as there is a bit of play in the wheel now and i can hear some knocking. the balljoint looks pretty f*cked as well. looks easy enough - any pointers? cheers!

hey do you mean the rear link control arms that, they have a circular hole at one end that attaches to the sub frame (think thats right word) and then the other end has a built in ball joint style joint with a bolt coming out that attaches to the hub assembly.

The only real difficult things and to take care as i have mentioned in other posts is on the end that attaches to the frame of the car the rod links into a cam (comes off when you take the old bolt). This cam affects the allignment of the wheel and so must not be moved.

Before you remove anything scratch a line onto the cam that goes over the edge of the cam onto the frame. This way when the cam is replaced into the frame with the new rod it can be alligned into exactly the same position as before.

Other than that i think its fairly easy.
