window wind deflectors

Post by no2lurch »

due to limited resources, if my 2.2 sri estate's air con is not up and running following a regas, i am thinking of getting some wind defelctors for my windows.

does anyone have any thoughts or past experiences with these?

do they actually work in terms of having the windows open and no 'gale' inside the car?

how are they attached?

Some are self adhesive, which i've heard are the ones to avoid, whilst others fit into the window channel, which is the ones i'm probably going to get myself.

I've not been in a 406 with them on, but i've drove my mates transit with them fitted and they are brilliant. Window is open for ventilation without getting your head blown off.

Mine have some "made in Germany" type.

All they do is rattle.

I use the aircon anyway, rarely have the window open.

Would be useful if you smoke in the car though!

realy need some deflectors now! air con is goosed.

anyone able to tell me how good they are for sure? i'm thinking the 'in channel' ones.

with them fitted and the windows down an inch or so, does the air get circulated?

Yep, they're fine. I've got the 'in the channel' ones and they do the job well. Like you say, with the windows down an inch, the air is circulated nicely. For pics, click on the link in my sig below.

I've got a set of ClimAir ones ordered, should be in by the end of the week. They're pricey but most internet sites say they are the ones to go for :)
