Wont Rev above 2800 ?

Hi Guys, I have just fitted another ecu unit an imobiliser to my car as i had been having probs with it ,

BUT now it drives fine until 2800 revs....it wont go above 2800 revs in any gear, any ideas anyone,,, also I have an engine management light on.. which i didnt have before. ???

steve, i looked at those links,,, kinda similar vibes to mine... it drives fine if your driving normal but if ye want to run it hard thru the gears it just wont do it an 2800 revs is not enough... it should go well beyond they revs wouldnt ye aggree... even in nuetral, it`l only rev up to 2800 in fact around 2600 revs it slows down.... then wont go above the 2800

I guess the ecu is sensing a serious fault and not allowing to rev (see links), if everything was ok before it's either you've picked up a duff'un or it's having some sort of compatibility issue.

All I can think to do is check the connector for bent pins and get the codes read.

steve,, am gettin more feedback in the other thread i have entitled 90 or 110, jist above this so a think am gonna be talkin thru that one as it makes sense,,, an you are the only guy whos got back tae me on this thread,,,, no point in having two threads... thanks, john
