Electric windows stutter

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Electric windows stutter

Post by NollingtonHards »

Last night i discovered that my windows will go down fine but as i press the button to raise them they stutter 2cm ish up and stop. You have to continually push and release to close the windows. Any one had a similar problem?
I have done a search on the forum but sadly nothing similar.

Usually just a case of resetting them

I've put a new window regulator in my dads laguna II this afternoon
Once done it went up an inch at a time

Reset it by holding the up bottom for approx two seconds and job done

i noticed when i take the battery out of my car the drivers window auto function goes away it only goes down in intervals and you have to keep pressing it to go down and back up, but after the first go, or if its left for a while after the battery reconnected the window is fine

Aye, you need to take the window to the top and hold the button down for a couple of seconds. Might need to do it for the bottom as well depending on the car make.
