406 Heater wont turn off im boiling !!!!

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

406 Heater wont turn off im boiling !!!!

Hi guys
First post
ive got a peugeot 406 04 plate hdi the heater blower is the climate control panel
the heater is on full on the panel when you press it it shows it going down but the heater is on full belt
ive changed the heater blower in the passenger footwell still the same
any ideas ta

Hi Jason, welcome aboard :cheesy:

I'm guessing you changed the fan because the fan is going full tilt, as well as the heat being full on. Sounds like the control unit's gone mad :(

I take it you're changing the fan setting and it has no option, and you've tried changing the temperature setting and that's done squat too...

First try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes (you'll have to reset the one-touch on the drivers door after, and you may have slightly rough and/or more responsive running for the first 5 miles or so). If that doesn't fix it, I'd suggest getting a new display off ebay...

If that doesn't fix it, you'll need to get the car in for diagnostics at a Peugeot dealer. Alternatively some of us have the same equipment at home and may be willing to help, so it may be worth putting your location in your profile
