Hi all
My multifunctional display unit has gone wrong. It started by slowly getting dimmer with the left side going dim then the whole display unit went dim. During the day you can see the info on display but only if you look closely and in the dark you cant see anything.
Are there any bulbs behind this unit that I can replace or do I have to get a new one and replace it.?
If I need to replace it is it just a matter of reconnecting wires or is there any resetting of anything involved
Car is 99 lx model and I think it’s a d9 but not sure.
Thanks in advance for any info provided on topic.

Re: MULTIFUNCTIONAL DISPLAY UNIT
just take off the two corners, then unscrew all, the mfd pulls out and then unclip the wire, then you will be able to see the bulbs at the back they twist out, if getting hold of new bulbs is an issue i have an ebay link somewhere for replacement bulbs. The only issue is the devistating effect of the clock being reset, yes it sounds simple enough but what if the clock in the car is what your using to time cooking the dinner it could get ruined. But no there is no real problem taking it out just set the time again.
Re: MULTIFUNCTIONAL DISPLAY UNIT
Just done mine today, use a torx t15 driver to undo the screws, once the bulb holders are twisted out the bulb just pulls out.
Took mine to a local car parts & got 2 for £1.98.
I found I could get the bulbs out without disconnecting the display
