Post by Gary406 »

just had the car fully serviced,

new cambelt and aux belt

it seems to have got worse on fuel since this, any reasons or what i should look for or do .. its confusing me :? i thought it would have been a lot better with a major service

my tyres are correct, i drive sensible all the time

throw the big amps and speakers out! :cheesy: :cheesy:
less weight, less power drain on battery= more mpg also you have your windows shut so again more mpg.

S'bout what I get from mine. No matter how hard I try, unless I drive on the motorway it dosent go up. Around town weather I belt it or take it easy 37mpg is my max.

does it run 100%? any loss of power?

of the answer to above is no, and yes, then could be a tooth out on cam belt.

The fuel return pipe, ive had a few peugeots leak diesel out because of this, ive no idea where it is or how to fix it but this was usually the diagnosis from the mechanic who just replaced them with trusty garden hose, could explain why when you do a lot of short trips economy is terrible. but its a problem i seen on a 405, and a 205 i dont know if it applies on the four oh six (sounds better when spelt out)
