removing plastic

Post by bikeman »

Hi need some help removing some plastic.

1. How to remove splash guide above pollen filter - viewtopic.php?f=10&t=3870 didn't help

2. How to remove plastic air inlet above throttle body.

Before I break them. Thanks

Look at the second to last picture in the above howto. Near Welly's fingers is a clip you can see with a bit of his red bodywork poking through. There's 2 (or 3?) of these which need to be unclipped. Then the panel can be pulled out. They're a pain in the backside though...

You'll have to say which engine you have...
<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang

I have a 406 2.0 petrol 1999 mk2 - I've now got a haynes manual and it unnecessarily says the wipers need to be repositioned before the splash guird can be removed which is wrong. I have done it now.

I've also got the throttle inlet off. It was help be a large screwclip which was somewhat inaccessible so I coulnd see it.

ps I tried to upload a photo but the boards attachment quota has been reached.

Thanks
