Window Tint
I have seen both my uncles cars with the back windows tinted and it looks good provided its not an overly strong tint i think 25% looked best, but would it look right on a blue 406 like mine if i just had the back windows tinted (anyone got pics of their saloon with tinted windows), i know it looks quite good on the new hilux because its black but would it look right on a blue peugeot with a cream interior? and whats the sort of price range for getting it done by someone who does it right.

Re: Window Tint
I paid £150 to get my estate done by a couple of Polish fellows in Southampton trading under the name Mastertints, but they were about half the price of most other companies. Did a fantastic job though & this also included a very light film on the front windows too.
Not sure what sort of price you could expect to pay up in the North of Ireland though.

Can't you just have a fire inside you're car, and voila ! Instant window tinting

I'll refrain from trying it myself though

Re: Window Tint
£150 sounds a tad expensive, some place was £70 for my cousins a6 and even then i thought it was expensive but i suppose not.

How about a subtle sunstrip?

Joking aside, I've never been a fan of aftermarket tints on anything.

Re: Window Tint
you put up a picture of the official car of the chavs in northern ireland, id pick a standard 306 over that any time.
I just want a mild tint in the back, it really does look great on the hilux

Re: Window Tint
usually thats what it says on the back of most 306's it or keep her country, or keep er lit and the back side of them are always covered in black soot. I dont think the no smoke no poke is correct though because ive overtaken plenty of them 306s with no loud exhaust noise or dump valve and they cant even keep up, the smoke is caused by the incomplete combustion of diesel so that means their engines are not running at full efficency, so there is no poke with smoke. I have nothing against the 306 its a good car, but the problem is to get a good one that hasnt been modified over here in NI its almost impossible.

Re: Window Tint
Aye, totally agree. Most of them have only had the fuel screw turned and the turbo has been ignored, i guess they'll be putting out 100-110bhp tops
I also love the 306, saw a gti-6 one day when I was a youth and loved them since. You'll notice alot of the 306's in NI are running english plates as all our d-turbos have been wrecked by the cutting of springs and blowing up of engines. Maybe the d-turbos main problem was that any knob with a spanner could 'tune' them

Re: Window Tint
thats the problem its complete tools ruining the cars by badly tuning the engine. My aunts asked me to get her a cheap runaround at £1000 and the 306 is about the only decent car you could get at that money, the troube is ill need to go to england for her to get the good ones because it was the same with my 406 because of the purity of south armagh diesel theres too many diesels around here with wrecked fuel pumps, wheras going over to england you usually get a better car.

Re: Window Tint
No doubt about it. I got a great 405 d-turbo out of england, drove it for a few months and sold it on to a guy so i could afford to go to uni. Saw the car a couple of months later and it was lowered right down at the back, the clutch was on its last legs and the engine was about to go. I was in a foul mood for a few days about it

Re: Window Tint
ahy gumtree has a few of them 405s, they look really sporty especially the ones that arent actually lowered, but then the lowered ones juts look too iffy. The d turbos with the sporty body kit and standard suspension wouldnt be bad for a bit of posing in i really do like the look of some with the mi16 kit, but whats the point of the lowered ones because a tuned xud cant possibly match the power of a hdi, so they ruin a good car.
