Hi, been reading a few topics on this but cant find an answer to my problem.
The heater blower just stopped working the other morning. Ive taken the blower motor out and wired it direct to a battery and i works fine. I have also changed the heater control module with another one i had.
I am getting 12v on the red and black wires that go to the blower motor when ignition is on.
When i switch the ignition on and off the motor jerks round a couple of mm each time, like its trying to start, but as ive already said it seems to work fine when connected directly to the battery. Motor was changed 7 months ago, but has seen good bit of use since then.
Car is my uncles phase 2 HDi with the air con and climate control
Any ideas????....

I think these sometimes burn out the connections in the wiring. Check the voltage with it all connected and the ignition on, perhaps then it doesn't get the full 12 volts.

Re: Heater Blower wont turn on...
its getting the full 12v at the blower motor when everything is on.... ie fan and ignition.
I did notice tho that when the fan is turned off on the dash and ignition is on, i still get 12v at the plug for the motor??? Is that correct?? Id of assumed that when the fan is turned off that the voltage would be 0v. Or is it always 12v when the ignition is on and its controlled by a resistor pack somewhere??

I've just been noticing the same thing on my recirculation flap - the readings don't seem to change and I still get 10 volts (hmm...) and 1.5k ohms to earth even with the ignition off. In fact, without the motor on the end of it nothing changes whatever I do with the ignition or air con. I suspect the ecu is cleverer than we think.
