Just wondered about this. I have decided to PX my car for a 2001 Fiat Scudo van (more practical for my electric bike business) which is a 2.0 JTD 8V.
I believe this is the same as the HDi in my 406, but I'm wondering what the differences might be including the 8v/16v question.
Is there any advantage of 8v/16v eg. power / reliability?
Cheers
Jim

It's 8 valve. The later 2.0s are 16 valve, they're more powerful. I guess they're not any more reliable though.

Thanks Steve.
Now, how will I tell whether the JTD is a 90bhp or 110bhp engine?

You need to look for an intercooler on the 406. I dunno, are they either?
