Door Card Puddle Lights
Braved the snow & the cold to fit my new leather door cards today & was pleasantly surprised to find that the wiring for the puddle lights was there taped to the plugs for the electric windows on each door.
Only problem is that none of them are working. Is there anybody that knows why this is? Do I need to put a fuse in somewhere or is this one of those things that needs to be enabled on the BSI?

I'm fairly sure it needs activating in the BSI.

Re: Door Card Puddle Lights
That's exceedingly unfair - my LX had no wiring, and yours does
Coupe has them though, so I'm not that bitter
If you live near enough to someone who has a working copy of Peugeot Planet 2000 and a suitable interface, then maybe this kind soul could sort it out for you.
Otherwise, you may have some success buttering up your local Peugeot dealer... and by "butter up", I mean "pay handsomely"

Re: Door Card Puddle Lights
BSI required but if circuit im making would actually work right you could use it to drive the door card lights from the courtesy lights

Re: Door Card Puddle Lights
Is there anyone that lives close to Andover, Hampshire that has Peugeot Planet that'd be willing to do it for a fee?
Failing that, is this what I need?
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Lexia-Citroen-Peu ... 3a60b95606
Seems expensive, but depends on what else I can do with it. May try ringing a couple of local garages to see if they have it. The crowd that do my servicing reckon that they can do the full FAP service, so they might have it.

Re: Door Card Puddle Lights
Did you add the postage cost too? £88.91 + £46.57 postage.
Thing is, it may sound ok to someone like yourself that does most maintenance themselves, but there's nothing in the description that would be much use to me.

All these are ok for the amateur (or professional) mechanic, but to somebody like me it'd be nearly £150 on something that may get used once - & it doesn't even say that it will do the one thing that I want it to do (activate BSI functions). The following diagnostic functions are supported:
1.Read identification
Displays complete identification of control unit, e.g. part number, software/hardware version, manufacturer, etc...
2.Read fault codes
Displays all stored and pending fault codes with complete description (e.g. "Rail pressure - too low pressure").
Program supports report printing or copy to clipboard.
3.Clear fault codes
This function clears all stored fault codes and other diagnostic information.
4.Auto-scan (complete car scan/test)
Detects all ECUs (electronic control units) installed in car and reads all diagnostic fault codes.
5.Measured Values
Program displays live Data like Engine Speed, Battery voltage, Oxygen Sensor, Coolant Temperature, etc. Values can be displayed in graph, 9 values at once, or full listing (all measured values). Logging to file is also supported, which allows offline analysis.
6.Actuator test
Actuator test activates particular actuator (e.g. turn on fuel pump, lock/unlock wheel, lock/unlock doors, cut off fuel, etc..)

Re: Door Card Puddle Lights
whats that total price about £130 not too bad, if thats the thing that reads all the fault codes, and can activate the sat nav etc, id buy it no problem. Not only would it be useful for me but i have a few friends with pugs and citroens so theres a potential for a bit of money to made. But is this really the peugeot planet?

Re: Door Card Puddle Lights
Still waiting for someone to confirm that. Maybe I should buy it, turn on the functions I want then sell it on to you at a reduced price? One careful owner...
Now, if it was Doggy's magic remap leads that'd be a different matter. I'm still half contemplating getting one of those, but I don't think that can be used for the BSI stuff.

Re: Door Card Puddle Lights
Yep! That's virtually the same as mine & a bit cheaper too, mine was £155 all in.
In truth I don't use it very often, but I reckon it doesn't owe me anything now either. It's almost certain to save you a trip to the stealers at some point.
Besides, you'll have hours of fun trying to get it working.....

Re: Door Card Puddle Lights
Does these things work with mac or is it only for windows.
even £155 isnt bad, i went to an independant fault code reader for the airbag light who charged me £20 to print out a tiny reciept that told me i wired the wires up wrong. Ill be able to charge friends £10 to do the same things and only need 15 faults to recoup the money.

That's what you used to create your 180bhp monster? Doesn't say anything about that.Yep! That's virtually the same as mine & a bit cheaper too, mine was £155 all in.

£30 is temptingly cheap for a remap and all the files are there.

Re: Door Card Puddle Lights
I've got both - well a PP2000 setup as your previuos link for diagnosic stuff and a Galletto 1260, (which was about £25), to up/download ecu files. (I understand the KWP2000 works just the same).waue1978 wrote:That's what you used to create your 180bhp monster? Doesn't say anything about that.

..then all you need is a working copy of Ecusafe, to de-FAP any existing file, (though you'll not be bothered about that bit at the mo.)
