MFD ??

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

MFD ??

today i removed the panel were the heated rear windscreen button is and hazard lights ..

behind it i found a long plug with wires on it,

is this for the MFD ? will it work if i plug 1 in ??

Yep that's the one for the MFD. It won't do much on the diesel engines unfortunately as there's no live fuel data to tap into.

Hmmm, that's interesting. I wonder if it would work on the 2.1td, I've never seen one with an MFD but seeing as it is a very ECU controlled engine you would think that there would be some live fuel data going on somewhere.........................right?

It's only the Bosch MP5.1.1 and the V6 ECU that provide the data as far as I know.

Is there much available on the d8 mfd, was satnav ever an option on its mfd. What sort of display is it? Is it just a collection of 7 segment digits, or is there any dot matrix bits to it?

On my D8 2.1TD, it was just for the radio (means you'd need a different radio too)
