engine oil

Post by omega »

been offerd a 25 l drum off fully synthetic engine oil at a very good price and am very tempted but will it be okay for a high mileage 2.1 diesel?
the spec is right 10w/40 but as my engine has only ever had normal oil in it under my ownership will it cause any issues?
i wont be mixing the 2 oils and will change at my next service.

saw the drum today its from volvo and it says "fully synthetic 10w 40"
maybe its a dodgy drum but it is sealed.
