i used that very same list a few months ago when i was trying to figure out if my car was metalic or perl 8)

Some total bastard did all that damage while my car was parked up on the High Street in Earlston, while I was off test-driving my new Coupe. Not a nice thing to come back to. The arsehole had buggered off without leaving insurance details, and the most I could glean from other people who had been there was that it was "some bloke in a work van".

I was looking for a wing - replace the wing and broken side repeater, and put the car through MOT, and try and sell it from there. If you happen upon a China Blue saloon with both right-side doors, wing, and wing mirror all in good condition, please let me know!

EDIT: or, if you're interested in the car as a whole, I'd be happy to pass it on to you for the right price. It's a solid, reliable runner, 1.8 petrol engine, LX trim but upgraded with exec-spec door cards, aluminium door sill guards, metallic-silver interior door handles, and a Powerflow cat-back stainless steel exhaust (which cost £350 and is less than a year old). The only issue with the car (other than the bodywork damage pictured) is that the passenger-side electric window doesn't work.

Hi, thanks for the link it is very helpful, It is a disgrace what has happened and to be honest I'm hearing a lot of similar stories, about people driving off after hitting someone's car! I have a passenger wing in my hallwayright now waiting for the courier for exactly the same. I think there's a lot of uninsured drivers about at the moment with money being tight all over the country.

I am constantly looking for new stock, if anything comes in in your colour I'll let you know. I have someone else asking me for the passnger wing and door for that very same colour so if i see one I will deffinatly by it :wink:

I buy all my stock from Coparts salvage auctions, all light accident damaged cars listed cat d or c. 2 weeks ago, I bought the 2 Jade saloons for £350 each, Both HDi 90's and good runners. One of them is M.o.t'd until November 2011.

I dont want to make an offer for your car and offend you, sorry! :oops: But I hope it gets sorted out, and I will help If I can.

A guy came up from leicester a few weeks ago in his D9 Estate. It had no front bumper on, and the bumper support badly damged, he said he'd been using it like that for months :mrgreen:

He bought a front bumper cover,aBonnet, Bumper support, passenger front wing and tailgate. And we got it all in his car :shock:

I'm replacing the wing because the side repeater is mashed. The garage said that because of the position of the dent, they wouldn't be able to fit a new repeater without repairing the wing (which means the removal of the dent, then sanding off the paint and properly respraying it = £££££)

Because the repeater is mashed, the car would never pass the MOT. Replacing the wing and repeater will at least allow me to get it road-legal again. Having 12 months' MOT on a car is a good selling point, even one that has suffered some nasty scratching. If I had the money to spare, I'd replace both the doors and the wing mirror casing as well, but I don't.

i know of a man who live round near me, drives an old d8 estate, every panel has a dent, one of the repeaters is held in with tape, and the back bumper has a bit of metal bolted onto the bodywork and then it to hold it into place.

:idea: iwouid just get another side repeater off a scrapper and hold it in place with that double sided tape they use for trims,
and then T-cut out as much as icouid of the scratches,

its not that bad ive seen worser 406s ^

Oh yes, no doubt. At least the car still starts and runs, and I was able to drive the 160 miles back home. If he'd hit the car in such a way that the front-right wheel wouldn't turn, or was badly buckled, then driven off (as he did) then I'd have been even more screwed.

It would actually have been better if he'd hit my car pretty much head on and f*cked the engine - at least then I don't think his bloody van would have been in any fit state to drive off, and I'd have avoided the whole situation, as his insurance would have had to pay out for the damage to my car.

Still don't understand how the hell he managed it, given the position of my car. I was parked on the left side of the road, which isn't a narrow little street; there was plenty of room to get past - but he was driving in the opposite direction, and would have had to cross the centre line in order to hit my car.

van drivers manage to do these things, its a special skill they have to be able to drive that way especially the tailgating bit, but fortunatley their white vans dont have the power to keep up a tailgate of my car.
