air recirculation flap motor , blower motor

Post by maglite1 »

hello all , ive had this annoying noise under the dash since ive had the car and my blower motor died last week so decided to pull the glove box out and the blower motor , ive found the noise is the motor going to the re circulation flap grinding away as the cogs all not cogs anymore lol , anyway i dismantled the blower motor and fixed it ( brushes to armature burnt ) i also found a 2 way block connector badly burnt and plan cutting it out tomorrow and using 100amp connector blocks .

is there any reason i cannot leave the re circulation flap open and do away with it as im not going to bother replacing the motor that operates the flap ive never used it in 2 years anyway , just glad the annoying grinding chattering noise will be gone .

That's generally what people do, take the motor off and leave the flap open. Well done on the other stuff anyway
