Anti-Block-System light on inside car

Hey

Lately, when I start my engine, the ABS light starts glowing. Usually it turns itself off after the car starts but lately it sometimes just doens't go away. So I drive a little, then I shut the engine down and start it again, and the light either comes back on or it disappears. What could be wrong?

I may have a connection with the fact that I sometimes start the car while holding the brake pedal in.

Also, I've had problems with another one of the dashboard lights... The one about two spaces to the left, the one with the engine symbol on it also glows frequently...

What could this be?

EDIT: Also, there is a very scary noise that comes from the front(I'd think left wheel) when I attempt to reverse the car. Especially when I am turning the wheel... A really loud complaining noise, like somethings grinding up on something...

the little engine light is the engine diagnostic light which means there is an engine management problem the code needs reading .......................... as for the grinding noise when reversing and the abs light your abs ring at the back of your discs could be damaged or just something simple like loose pads

With regards to reversing while turning, check your tracking. Had that problem and it turned out the wheel was actually touching the inside of the wheel arch due to the wheel being out of alignment...!
