hi everyone
i need some help about my peugeot 406 1.8 LX rapier petrol
last week i start getting noise problems with my clutch and i decide to get a new clutch, i was quoted £392 pounds for new one and it was the cheapest i found in my area.
the problem is the clutch noise gone but pedal still to high to start.
my clutch is hidralic.
what i need to know is this allright or is some thing not done properly, new clutch should start at low pedal

Re: replace new clutch
They are all high. On two of my 406's they have been high. When I got the first one, I actually went to a garage to have it checked as the biting point was much higher than any other car I've driven. But the guy said it was normal and it lasted 70,000 miles before I sold it on.

1.9TD is cable operated - mine was a 2.1TD which was hydraulic, which are always high.

Re: replace new clutch
On my 407 the pedal was high at biting point and I assumed it was normal like the 406, but when I did my DMF and clutch....despite the clutch looking fine....the biting point is now low, where you would expect it after a new clutch is fitted.
