Hi - Who am I? :cheesy:

Post by bytecode »

Hi all,

So I've just bought a 406 HDi Rapier Estate in silver. I'm loving it. Just the workhorse that I need.
I work in computers but I'm also a double bass player - so I need a practical car.
I live in Cornwall, so I need to be able to deal with lanes, tourists and tractors.

I was content with my Daihatsu and my Rover, but then they broke, in turn, and sadly I fell ill which meant that instead of fixing them, they stood, and stood. I've since had a life saving operation, life is slowly getting back on track.
But it's time to get rid of the Daihatsu (broken gear box), the tired Rover 418 (rotting chassis) and make space to fix the engine of my MGF (ran out of oil - one of the conn rods exploded through the block). In the meantime, I've found what I hope is a decent 406 HDi estate to last me for a good few years.

My car history:
  • Peugeot 306 Hatchback (I loved the handling on this)
  • Hyundai Atoz+
  • Daihatsu Grand Move 1.6+
  • Rover 418 TD (XUD7TE)
  • MG MGF 1.8MPi
  • Peugeot 406 HDi 90 Rapier Estate
I love turbo diesels - it's the way that the feel and the "magic" of the compression based combustion.
I love the handling of the MG MGF though, it goes around country lanes like a rocket.
I've done a bit of tinkering with my cars, I'm no stranger to a spanner, swarfega and lying in a puddle trying to re-tap a thread. Although my stick welding would benefit from a mentor (as I really haven't a clue).

Hello everybody :)
Now if I can just fit the mods from "Taxi" http://tinyurl.com/3yug4g3

I can provide PP2000/Lexia 3 code reading/clearing in the East Cornwall/West Devon area.
