New Phone

Post by FarmerPug »

I sold the blackberry, put it on ebay and it sold in 7 minuites for £100 thats how much i got it new back in september.
So i bought myself an iphone, but at the moment its really just an ipod touch, i put the sim card in but it says sim invalid.
Anyone ever unlocked or used an iphone. It seems to be a very impressive phone in all other respects.

I think it has to be jailbreaked to unlock it, as they are tied to the original carrier.

Who is it locked to? May be worth even changing carrier and keeping your original number.

You could find out the previous owner and get them to call the carrier to get it approved by apple for unlocking, then when you plug it into iTunes and restore it, it should be unlocked.

iPhones are the future, I'll never look back. In March 2010, it had to take an iPhone for me to get rid of my beloved K800i that I had since 2006

Well, if he saw out the duration of the contract then the network are obliged to unlock the phone. If he only bought the phone recently and sold it on then there is no point in doing anything. Jailbreaking or else moving network will be the only options.

In that case you need to get on to the previous owner and call them on it - if they've listed it on eBay as an unlocked sim-free phone, they need to help you out or refund you.

You might also find that popping into the O2 shop and asking them for help might work - you might just need a new SIM (don't worry, your number will still be associated with it).

i made the mistake at the time of trading mine in for some hp pda windows thingymobob it was a terrible phone. But then the motorolla razr2 v8 (good name) was the best phone to use, quite basic function wise but a good solid phone. This iphone seems very easy to use.

This iphone is very good the first phone which has an Internet browser that can be used as an alternative to a computer. In fact I'm on the wifi and typing this very message on the iPhone it's fantastic.
The camera is also quite good I know on paper it's just 3. Something megapixel but compared to the blackberry it's a big leap must be the fact it can focus.
And everything's so fast and works very well with the MacBook apart from the phone bit still discussing that issue with the seller.

The iphone was a proper phone.
Having a macbook with osx the iphone seems to work better with it, but also it feels very well made, i have no doubt android is good but the iphone is very easy to use.
