OMG It's A New Car !!!

Finally got round to fitting two new wishbones yesterday (cocked up and ordered the wrong drop links so there's a job for the weekend).

Took her out for a test drive and WOW, the steering feels so much tighter and responsive, turns in beautifully with none of that vagueness she had before and no sign of oversteer that made you nervous about putting any power down. Plus the added bonus of not rattling like a stone in a tin can over the slightest bump in the tarmac.
Still have an occasional knock over potholes but that should be sorted when the 'CORRECT' drop links are fitted, but it's put all the pleasure back into driving my 406.

I must admit the oversteer issue had made me increasingly nervous about driving her, she's so much quieter to, I'll be able to turn the stereo down a little now

Anyone experiencing similar issues I strongly recommend doing the same, only paid £70 for the pair from your friendly internet auction site and to be honest it's worth twice that much for the difference it's made!!!

droplinks will make a big differnce too,
Mine sounded like it was falling too bits new droplinks sorted it,
Avoid the Ebay ones if you can tho theyre not Brilliant and dont last long,

Your description sounds kinda familiar, ('cept I haven't noticed oversteer). How did you determine what was needed?

I cheated a little bit Dogslife by taking it to national tyres for a free check, the guy popped the covers off the struts and rocked the wheels back and forth, passenger side was ok but on the drivers side you could clearly see movement where the 3 bolts fix to the car, once he'd seen the movement he shone a torch on the wishbone as he moved the wheel and it was sliding back and forth in the rear bush.

Amazingly Welly the tyre wear is very even on the front, it would be typical if it all goes to pot now everything is in the right place and doing it's job properly!!!
I was thinking of getting it checked tho as the inner is wearing on the n/s/r, would the rear drop links effect tyre wear?
