That black estate looks sexy, very nice shiny paintwork and no dents at all.
The saloon is nice but i think silver is a bit too common, sure its a practical colour but its not exciting.
Would you want a hdi 110 with an auto, the manual box is a good slick gearbox.

Also thanks for the se spec car i now have a decent picture of what the carpet looks like round the sat nav drive, the silver dash looks nice in that car.

Yup iagee they do look luvly in black,
seems alot of money that considering what Mileage is on it,
But it seems the 406 hdis are fetching good money at the moment ive had a nosey on the Ebay and theres 1999 reg ones going at 1700 quid and there Lx, Mileage is a bit heavy on them too,
iwas going to put mine on Ebay at £500 ish but ithink iwill have another think on that after seeing some of the prices there going for,

Trust me, you do not want a black 406. I have a top of the rank obsidian black saloon and it is absolutely horrible. Very easy to see scratches and dirt. I washed it last week and after 2 hours it was back as dirty as before (and I do not live in a dusty city). Also it's painfully hot in the summer (even if not as hot as other maker's black cars).
Maybe other kinds of black are better, but obsidian black isn't any good.

Also happens to be the most expensive (non-coupe) 406 to have sold on Ebay in the past 2 weeks:

http://completed.shop.ebay.co.uk/Cars-/ ... op=3&_sc=1

There are quite a few higher priced ones on the list, but the red writing denotes that they didn't sell. For an accurate representation of selling prices, you should only really look at the figures in green. Next one down from that is a 60k Exec Auto saloon at £1750.

You lucky b...ritish! Here 406s are much more expensive.
When I got mine it was 115k miles, and still spent 3500€ (+500€ tax), for a car that still had to change the timing belt and fix some stuff (590€), apart from an endless set of scratches. And now I'll probably have to change the diesel pump (~300€).
