is it possible?
reason i ask is cos i want to get some more out of my car and surely a decat is the best bet first. however - i have a lambda sensor before and after the cat.
can i do it then?

its possible ithink but the chances are it wouid fail on a mot,
why dont you just buy another cat and knock the insides out and keep your good one to put back on for mot time,

Re: De-Cat for a 2.2 petrol
i know the ramifications of taking the car for mot without a cat.
i'm more concerned with how the current post cat sensor will read after the decat has happened. will it read the o2 level to a point of the cars ecu becoming confused and then throwing an error code up?

Get a sports cat?
Usually cheaper than a conventional cat, not at all restrictive and will pass an MOT

if you have lpg you can bash the middle of the cat out and during the test it will still pass without a cat.

Never had an emissions test for MOT.

Every MOT I've ever had has involved emissions testing - I guess it's a petrol thing; diesels (apparently) don't get tested on emissions.
