Sensor prob?

Afternoon gents, i'm after some advise with a small prob. which happened yesterday. The car started ok (W reg 110 HDI) but was idling slightly high, i was able to take my foot off the pedal in 4th & still travel at 30mph. Aswell as this the engine light is lit up on the dash.

Went out this morning and the idle is now ok but the light is still on on the dash. Any ideas as to what the likely culprit is?

its a guessing game mate. if the EML light is on the car needs a diagnostic test to get the code that relates to the fault the car has.

try unpluging the egr solonoid valve,
ive seen one recently with a simalar problem and it was an Egr fault,

but as said above its a guessing game withought a fault code to work with ,
