Re: Overspeed warning
Probably not worth worrying about. It's most likely something along the lines of a speed limiter so it will either stop the car going above the set speed or it will bong at you annoyingly until you slow down.
On the Volvo trucks I've driven, the overspeed is part of the cruise control. I have it set at 2km/h & the cruise at 50mph. Then when the truck creeps 2km/h over the cruise speed (downhill usually) it cuts in the exhaust brake to slow it down.

Re: Overspeed warning
i thought it would work as a gearchange indicator, id like to see how it works, of course most of the time ill have it off.
I managed to get into the bsi settings of my car yesterday, for a while i activated 'running lights' which gives you the look of a volvo on the road with your headlights on in the middle of the day. Didnt like them so turned them off, then i set the rain sensor to maximum sensitivity because it was too slow, now it flaps the wipers at the slightest dribble, the auto lights are more sensitive, and the noise you get when opening the door is now removed.
Although what i had wanted to do was knock off the mfd message saying low fuel that is not possible.

Can PP2000 stop the "Damn you you forgot the key in idiot!" absolutely annoying sound too?FarmerPug wrote:i thought it would work as a gearchange indicator, id like to see how it works, of course most of the time ill have it off.

Someone should make a list of all possible options found in PP2000, some of them are great and unknown

Re: Overspeed warning
I find it annoying that if I take the key out of the ignition while the lights are still on, the car beeps and the MFD flashes up with the message "Lights not on"
It's obviously a mistranslation from French to English, because it really should say "Lights still on". Hell, even "Lights not off" would be an improvement.

Re: Overspeed warning
Lol! I dont have automatic lights, but I don't care as keeping the lights on during the day is compulsory here. What annoys me is when I open the door without removing the key first. Hell, I know I left the key in, no need to remind me!highlander wrote:I find it annoying that if I take the key out of the ignition while the lights are still on, the car beeps and the MFD flashes up with the message "Lights not on"

Re: Overspeed warning
i turned off the one where one leaves the key in the ignition and opens the door, that bleeper is gone. Because sometimes i want to keep the key in the ignition the car cant nag me anymore.
i have still got the noise about the chime when the lights are kept on and you open the door, although with the auto lights on all the time i never hear that.
