Reverse lights on 406 estate?

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Reverse lights on 406 estate?

Post by dukey406 »

Can anyone tell me where to find the switch that activates the reverse lights and or fuse?
I have checked both bulbs & holders and all seems ok, just no reverse lights :(

Mine's fuse 1 in the engine fuse panel, not sure what year your car is though. Try bridging the terminals + see if the lights come on.

Easiest way to check is as Steve says, pull off connector and insert small gauge insulated wire into both terminals then switch on ignition. If lights work then switch is at fault. I've just replaced one on a peugot, £6 including P+P for a new one from Ebay.

If you tested the switch for continuity whilst the switch was still in situ you did have reverse selected didn't you? The switch is a plunger type and if not depressed will not make the circuit.
