was told a car with airbag light on or flashing will fail on an MOT test ...
but ..... my airbag light doesnt even come on. changed bulb and still no light...
so......... will my car fail an MOT because the airbag light is not working ?

Re: New MOT .
Hi gaz,
ive been told as of April this year, the airbag light none functioning will be ofa fail,
as of where it used to be an advisory,
My picasso has a flashing air bag light and it passed its mot no probs last year,
But the pics have 2 air bag lights, still a fail as of this april
thats one of the reasons ihavent sold it yet,
iwill just wait until mots up , and do abit of soldering, looks easy enough to bridge two wires to another light that goes off after a few secounds,

Re: New MOT .
ye i was thinking that. solder wires to the engine management light. that goes off after a few seconds
2moro im gonna unplug seat plug to see if the light comes on then ...
surely it cant fail for being off ?

Sadly, yes its a fail mate,
The mot testers know whats fitted to a car standard, so there gona look for it,
its not them its the big cheifs pulling there chains aspose
As of the air bag light not being on thats a weird one,
normaly theyre either on solid or flashing, perhaps someones unpluged the main air bag ecu, ithink it lives near the handbrake under the console, dont know if there is a fuse for the Abs, might be worth a look,

Re: New MOT .
There is a Air-Bag shunt fuse,
perhaps thats been moved , im not 100% on that tho
maybe checking in which way the shunt fuse is placed in your breaker 406 might confirm if thats correct ,might be
worth alook

Computer says, Fuse 1
but bear in mind the shunt fuses dont look like, the other fuses so it shouid be easy to find,
