V6 Coupé AUT for sale for almost nothing!

I have a Dutch friend living in Richmond who is about leave the UK to return to Holland. He has not been able to sell his blue V6 Coupé (RHD) which he bought in England approx. 4 years ago). He also does not desire to export it to Holland (RHD). Now the only solution he sees is to have it scrapped , which in my view would be an enormous waste. The car is from 1998, has done 75k miles, it is driving very well and technically in good condition, with leather upholstery and only very minor scratches. Who would be interested in buying this beautiful Pininfarina in order to save it from being scrapped!!

In reverse order to Omega's questions: the car is in Richmond, Surrey, near London. It has an MOT until 4 November, 2012. It is tax exempted because it has a diplomatic licence.
That seems to be the biggest problem: before being sold the car needs to be re-registered, which I am told would cost a few hundred pounds and presents an administrative burden. This need to re-register would basically be the reason why scrapping it seems to be the way to go. But it would be such a waste! There must be someone who likes to have it and drive it, or at least use it for spare parts!
